8:30 – A month and a half into the criminal trial of accused convoy leaders Tamara Lich and Chris Barber, less than half of the Crown’s proposed witnesses have been called. One of them is Zexi Li, the lead plaintiff in the proposed class action on behalf of downtown Ottawa residents alleging harms as a result of the “Freedom Convoy” in early 2022. 10:00 – Yesterday marked five years since cannabis was legalized in Canada. When the third anniversary of cannabis legalization was marked, Libby Giesbrecht was finishing her master’s degree at the University of Regina, delving into police check stops and technology and asking questions about how cannabis-impaired driving statistics had developed since Oct. 17, 2018. She joins Gormley to discuss the five-year anniversary and her research in light of the present growth of cannabis-impaired driving police are reporting today.

10:30 – Last week, Saskatchewan’s legislature resumed its spring sitting to bring forward the “Parents Bill of Rights.” The use of the notwithstanding clause by the Government of Saskatchewan to see that bill brought forward has been debated. Law professor, Kerri Froc, joins Gormley to discuss why some might oppose the route the Government of Saskatchewan has taken.
