A 16-year-old Regina boy is facing some very grown-up charges.
According to police, the teen – who can’t be named publicly due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act – is facing charges in connection with three separate robberies dating back to August.
In the first case, police said a male victim was robbed of personal belongings by multiple male suspects on Rochdale Boulevard the evening of Aug. 16. The victim was unhurt, police said, and one youth was quickly arrested and charged with robbery.
In the second case, from Aug. 25, police said officers were called to a robbery in progress at a business on Pasqua Street North.
“Information provided to police stated that two suspects had entered the business wearing face coverings and stole liquor,” police said in a statement. “When the suspects were confronted by staff, one of the suspects sprayed the staff member with bear mace. The suspects then fled on foot.”
The third robbery dates back to Sept. 13, police said. In that case, police said a male victim was robbed and assaulted by two male suspects outside a school on Argyle Street. He was sprayed with bear spray, police said, and the suspects took off in a vehicle. One of the suspects was quickly arrested, police said.
The 16-year-old boy, who police said was involved in all three crimes, was arrested on Oct. 3. He’s now facing three counts of robbery, and made his first court appearance last Wednesday.
