A Prince Albert police officer is facing three assault charges after two separate incidents dating back to last summer.
According to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice, the Public Complaints Commission – a non-police organization that investigates and reviews complaints against municipal police – received a request from the Prince Albert Police Service asking the commission to open an investigation into one of the police force’s officers.
On Wednesday, Constable Dillon Husky was charged as a result of the investigation. He’s facing one charge of assault from an alleged incident on Canada Day of, 2022, and two counts of assault from another incident dated July 16, 2022.
He’s scheduled to appear in a Prince Albert courtroom on Oct. 26.
“As this matter is before the courts, no further information will be released at this time,” the ministry said in a statement.
