Saskatoon police responded to multiple calls over the weekend involving weapons that included machetes, pipes and bear spray.
On Friday at around 7 p.m., police received reports of a group of around 20 people fighting with each other using clubs and bats.
Police arrived as two large groups of men were arguing in a parking lot near Kensington Boulevard. Different sticks, pipes and a bat were taken by police, but no charges were laid.
According to police, the groups knew each other, and paramedics treated those with minor injuries on the scene
On Saturday at around 4:15 p.m., police went to 20th Street West and Avenue Q South after receiving a report of an injured person.
Police said the victim, who was found at a nearby hospital, was reportedly beaten and robbed of his backpack while crossing the street by about 15 to 20 kids and teens.
No weapons were used, and no charges were laid, according to police.
That same night, at around 10:30 p.m., police responded to a park near Rosewood Drive and Hamm Crescent, where there was a party of between 200 and 300 people.
A 15-year-old girl reported being bear-sprayed by another female. Police believe the victim was intoxicated at the time, and the girls knew each other.
Charges are pending, according to police.
On Sunday at 4:14 p.m., police received reports of a number of kids carrying bear spray, machetes and a possible gun around St. Paul’s Place.
Police said a broken window was found in a townhouse and the home appeared to have been bear-sprayed.
Before police arrived, the kids reportedly fled in a vehicle, but one suspect, a 16-year-old, was caught entering a nearby suite and taken into custody.
The teen was carrying bear spray and is facing charges including possession of a dangerous weapon.
