The leaves may be falling and the temperatures are starting to drop but senior climatologist David Phillips believes September will still be a warm month.
“Our models are suggesting that it’s going to be warmer than normal across Saskatchewan,” said Phillips.
Phillips explained this doesn’t mean there will be July like temperatures for the next month, but temperatures warmer than normal.
“September is typically about five degrees cooler than August and October is maybe 10 degrees cooler,” said Phillips. “Everything looks like it’s going to be above normal.”
Phillips also noted that mother nature was very kind to Saskatchewan this summer.
“You’ve had a gorgeous summer, you’ve had twice the amount of days above 30 degrees than Toronto, you’ve had 20 of those suckers and normally you get 13,” said Phillips. “You’ve had one tornado all year.”
Phillips described the weather in Saskatchewan as delightfully boring, saying everyday is usually the same as the one before.
