A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the killing of Melissa Bear.
According to police, Bear, 33, was found injured at a home on St. Paul’s Place the evening of Aug. 29. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The killing marked Saskatoon’s eighth homicide of 2023.
Police later announced that Cary Daniel Bluebell was a suspect in the case, and was wanted as a person of interest.
On Friday, police said Bluebell was found and arrested after leading officers on a “brief foot pursuit.”
He’s now facing a charge of second-degree murder, police said.
Bluebell is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday morning, police noted.
