The investigation of a head-on collision turned into much more for Saskatoon police on Friday.
According to a police release Tuesday, officers responded Friday at about 10 a.m. to the 4400 block of 11th Street West for a report of a crash between a car and a pickup truck.
The 33-year-old woman who was driving the pickup suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The 36-year-old man driving the car also suffered a minor injury, but he refused treatment.
In the release, police said the man showed signs of impairment. He and his vehicle were subsequently searched, and officers found about $4,700 in cash, 3.7 grams of crack cocaine, four grams of methamphetamine, a 3D-printed handgun, a replica revolver and a bulletproof vest.
He’s now facing six gun-related charges as well as one charge each of refusing a breath demand, impaired driving (by drug), possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine.
