The Battlefords RCMP says the disappearance of a 20-year-old woman in early July is now considered suspicious.
Nitanas Scarlett was reported missing to Battlefords RCMP on Aug. 7 and officers who have followed up on tips have yet to find her. As a result, the Mounties’ Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.
Scarlett was last seen in the 900 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford on the afternoon of July 4.
She’s described as being 5-foot-4 and weighing approximately 140 pounds. She has long dark brown hair, braces on her teeth, a pierced nose, a tattoo of a dragon with flowers around it on her forearm, and a tattoo of Asian script on her neck.
The RCMP said Scarlett has ties to North Battleford and the Moosomin First Nation, but it’s unknown if she travelled to either of those communities.
Investigators are asking members of the public to report any sightings of Scarlett or information about her whereabouts to their local police.
Anyone with information can call the Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720, their local police service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
