8:30 – The B.C. port strike has entered its 8th day, and the ripple effect on the economy is now being felt. The biggest sector feeling the pain is the potash industry and has the Saskatchewan government calling on the federal government to end this strike. Jeremy Cockrill is the Minister of Highways for Saskatchewan and joins Gormley to explain what the province is doing to help the potash sector as the strike is on.

It raises the question if more changes need to happen within the Department of public safety. Brian Lilley is a columnist for the Toronto Sun and joins Gormley to explain why changes should be made to the whole department.

10:00 – For 30 years, climate policy has focused on mitigating or reducing emissions and has not been effective as emissions continue to rise. A climate policy focused on adaptation could be the more effective way. Ross McKitrick is a professor of economics at the University of Guelph and wrote a study on the need for adaptation needs a greater focus in climate policy. He joins Gormley to discuss why we need to do this.

11:00 – Ottawa has published new guidelines to allow mortgage lenders to give relief for Canadians with a variable rate or renewing their terms. These guidelines recommend several things, including waving penalty fees to alter mortgage terms and charging interest on interest. Carrie Cardinal is a Mortgage Broker in Regina and joins Gormley to discuss this can be a helpful move if lenders adopt the recommendations.
