Three workers were sent to hospital Tuesday after part of a ceiling collapsed on them.
According to police, officers, paramedics and firefighters responded to the industrial accident on Campus Drive, on the University of Saskatchewan grounds at around 3 p.m.
“A portion of ceiling had collapsed on construction crew of five people. Three of them were taken to hospital with minor injuries,” police said in a statement.
“OH&S is investigating the incident.”
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, the injuries consisted of fractured bones and bruising.
“One worker was trapped underneath roof panels and sustained a fracture to his leg,” the fire department said in a statement.
“The other two workers also received injuries, one with an ankle fracture and the other with bruising to his body.”
