10:00 – Google and Meta have spoken and will not pay media outlets for content. This includes Google removing Canadian news from its platforms and ending existing deals it had with local publishers. Chris Waddell is a Professor of Emeritus at the School of Journalism and Communication at Carleton University. He joins Gormley to explain the negative impact this will have on news in Canada.

11:00 – We saw the inflation rate in Canada drop to 3.4%, but when you dig into it, Saskatchewan has the highest inflation rate among the provinces. Saskatchewan sits at 4.3%, a full percent higher than other Western provinces. Dr. Jason Childs, an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Regina, joins Gormley to explain why inflation is higher for us.

12:00 – After discovering his artistic skills while dealing with his mental health. Ryan Giesbrecht decided he needed to do more and help others with their journey. He has decided to walk across Canada to help raise money and awareness for mental health, camping on the side of the road and selling his art pieces. He joins Gormley, now from Oyen Alberta, to chat about his journey that started on June 7th.
