Police are asking the public for help to crack a 16-year-old homicide case.
Paul Theodore Jacobson’s body was located near Central Avenue and Agra Road after a citizen reported it to Saskatoon police in the early hours of July 3, 2007.
The 44-year-old was dead when officers arrived. He was later confirmed to be a homicide victim.
In a news release, the Saskatoon Police Service said its investigation into the historical homicide remains open.
“No suspects have been arrested but investigators believe members of the public may have information helpful in solving the case,” the release said.
Police previously put out a call for information from the public in 2017. At that time, a release shared that major crime investigators had interviewed “many people” and “developed suspects” in the case.
It also gave more details of Jacobson’s activity leading up to his death. He was last known to have been at a home in the 600 block of University Drive on July 1, 2007. According to Saskatoon police, witness interviews said Jacobson arrived at the home with a female friend who left shortly after arriving.
Investigators have not been able to identify this woman and are asking her or anyone else with possible information to come forward.
Anyone with information that might be relevant to the case is asked to contact police at 306-975-8300 or submit a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
