A 28-year-old truck driver is facing charges in connection with a crash in Saskatoon that left two people dead last fall.
On Oct. 7, police were called to the intersection of Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd Street West for a collision involving a Jeep Compass and a Peterbilt Power Unit with two loaded trailers.
A 59-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman who were inside the Jeep were taken to hospital, where they were both pronounced dead.
The truck driver was not injured in the crash, police said, but he’s now facing charges.
Police said he has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of criminal negligence causing death. He’s set to appear in court next week.
