The Saskatchewan RCMP is investigating two fatal crashes that happened Sunday.
The first incident – a single-vehicle rollover – happened on Highway 47 south of Springside shortly before 1 p.m. Officers from the Yorkton detachment responded, along with STARS. The 64-year-old male driver was taken to hospital where he was later declared dead, the RCMP said, while two adult passengers were taken to hospital for assessments.
That crash is under investigation with the help of Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstruction and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the RCMP said.
The other fatal crash, which happened in the early morning hours Sunday, was also a single-vehicle rollover, the RCMP said. That crash happened on Highway 58, south of Gravelbourg.
One of the vehicle’s three occupants – a 20-year-old man – was declared dead at the scene, the RCMP said, while two other passengers were assessed in hospital.
That crash is also under investigation, the Mounties noted.
In both cases, traffic on the affected highways was temporarily restricted, but the RCMP said both routes have since reopened.
