The Stanley Cup will once again tour through Saskatchewan this summer.
The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Florida Panthers 9-3 in Game 5 on Tuesday night to capture the Stanley Cup in the franchise’s sixth season.
Like the Colorado Avalanche’s championship team last year, the Golden Knights had plenty of talent from the prairies to help win hockey’s ultimate prize.
Chandler Stephenson, Brayden McNabb, Brayden Pachal and the team’s architect, general manager Kelly McCrimmon, and several members of the team’s front office all hail from Saskatchewan.
It was the first time hoisting the Cup for McNabb, Pachal and McCrimmon, but Stephenson, who picked up an assist in Game 5, added a second Stanley Cup to his resume.
The Saskatoon product was playing against his current team when he won his first title as a member of the Washington Capitals.

McNabb from Davidson, is one of six original Vegas players, known as the Misfits, left from the team’s inaugural season in 2017-18.
