9:00 – Saskatoon residents could face a massive property tax increase if the city can’t figure out how to pay down its debt. The city faces a $53.4 million funding gap, and if the council does nothing, residents will see an 18.5% property tax increase in 2024. Senior Reporter Lara Fominoff joins Gormley to break down the budget and potential tax increase.

10:00 – The freeze on Canada’s interest rate is over as the Bank of Canada has increased it again by 0.25% to 4.75%. This move is to cool down inflation, as we recently saw a small spike last month. Jason Childs is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Regina. He joins Gormley to discuss if it is now time to call it that Canada is in a recession.

11:00 – Volume 1 of the 2023 provincial auditors looking at how Saskatchewan is doing was released. One of the major issues discovered from the audit is the difficulty with the Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS) program. Tara Clemett is the Provincial Auditor and joins Gormley to discuss the report.

12:00 – The Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum is hosting a series of speaking events called SGI’s Solstice Speaker Series. The latest event is happening June 15th and celebrating Indigenous culture and dancing, featuring the Eagle Claw Dance Troupe.
