City of Saskatoon will be conducting another test of its notifynow emergency alert system on Tuesday morning.
Residents will receive the alert to their phones and tablets at 10:00 a.m.
Notifynow is Saskatoon’s alert program used to communicate real-time safety situations to the public.
“Alerts from notifynow are only issued when there is an impending, escalating or occurring emergency situation in the city and immediate action needs to be taken,” the city’s Pamela Goulden-McLeod said in a release. “Testing the system allows us to ensure the system works as expected.”
In the event of an impending or escalating public safety concern, notifynow will send out a message to subscribers by text, voice call to a landline or cell phone and email.
Residents can sign-up for the program by visiting saskatoon.ca/notifynow.
The provincial emergency public alerting system, SaskAlert, will also be conducting a test on Wednesday at 1:55 p.m.
