A former leader of the Saskatchewan NDP is releasing a book on Saskatchewan’s experience with COVID.
Ryan Meili’s new book ‘A Healthy Future: Lessons from the Frontlines of a Crisis’ is set for release October 1, Meili announced in a social media post Tuesday.
Meili, who worked as a family physician before entering politics, said the book “traces our wave-by-wave experience of COVID in Canada, with a particular focus on Saskatchewan.”
He said the book will include stories from patients and health-care providers, along with his own reflections from both a political and medical perspective.
Meili said the book will “bring to life clear ideas of what we can learn from and what we’ve all been through these last few years.”
This won’t be the first literary effort from Meili, who in 2012 published ‘A Healthy Society: How a Focus on Health can Revive Canadian Democracy.’
The former opposition leader stepped down as both NDP leader and MLA in 2022, following his party’s loss in a former stronghold seat. He was replaced as leader by Carla Beck.
A little news from me and @UBCPress.
