A 24-year-old man found himself in handcuffs after a call about a domestic disturbance involving a weapon led to a standoff with police over the weekend.
According to police, officers were called to a home on Pendrygrasse Road at around 6 a.m. Saturday for a report that a man inside was threatening the other occupants with a shotgun.
“Upon arrival, officers found a 22-year-old female victim had exited the residence, while the suspect remained inside. Officers learned the victim had also been assaulted, before fleeing the residence,” police said in a statement.
Police said the Tactical Support Unit was called to the area, and some roads were closed to traffic as officers set up a perimeter around the house.
At about 9:15 a.m., police said the suspect came out of the home and surrendered. A 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition were found inside.
The 24-year-old man now faces numerous charges, police said, including assault with a weapon, uttering death threats and careless use of a firearm.
