A 34-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle outside a business on Highway 2 in Northside on Tuesday.
Northside is about 35 kilometres north of Prince Albert.
Police and EMS responded to the scene of the crash and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The family of the man, who is from Paddockwood, have been notified.
Officers say the initial investigation revealed that at about 8:30 p.m., a vehicle hit the victim and then left the scene. Police found it several hours later in the community of Little Red River. The driver was then found and is now in police custody.
While the RCMP did not release the man’s name, paNOW has learned from someone close to the victim and from a witness at the scene that Ryan Clark was the man killed.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken over the investigation. Charges against the male are pending and the investigation continues.
