A little over a year after a Saskatoon woman’s remains were found in an area south of Prince Albert’s Alfred Jenkins Field House, police have confirmed a second arrest has been made in the case.
Chelsey Crowe, 33, was arrested on Tuesday while in custody on other, unrelated matters. Crowe is now charged with manslaughter, unlawful confinement and assault causing bodily harm in relation to Taya Sinclair’s death.
Crowe, who was scheduled to appear Wednesday at Saskatoon Provincial Court, is also charged with unlawful confinement and aggravated assault involving a second victim.
Sinclair, 24, was initially reported missing by Saskatoon police on March 16, 2022, and the following day her remains were discovered in Prince Albert’s snow dump area, southeast of the Alfred Jenkins Field House. Police said her remains had been burned.
In January of this year, members of the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division charged 25-year-old Stephanie Halkett-Stevenson with first-degree murder, aggravated assault, unlawful confinement and uttering threats in relation to this investigation.
Halkett-Stevenson’s matters were most recently spoken to on March 23, and the case was adjourned to April 20.
Police have confirmed their Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate.
Sinclair had two young children. Family members have fondly recalled her beautiful smile and warm spirit.
