A standoff outside a Saskatoon home ended with at least two arrests Tuesday.
Officers with the Saskatoon Police Service’s Tactical Support Unit surrounded a home on Witney Avenue North and asked the public to avoid the area.
An armoured vehicle was parked in front of the home and several officers were seen with their guns drawn outside. An ambulance was also on the scene.
In a brief statement, police did not say what caused the situation, but said “further updates will be released as they become available.”
A man and woman were led away in handcuffs after a loudspeaker announcement from police ordered everyone in the home to come out.
650 CKOM has reached out to police for more details.
In an update shared to social media at 4:15 p.m., police said officers remain at the scene and traffic restrictions are expected to remain in place “into the evening hours.”
