One of the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ latest signings is a big-name linebacker.
The CFL team announced the addition of La’Akea Kaho’ohanohano-Davis, a former member of the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound product of Kahului, Hawaii played five seasons at Southern Utah, recording 140 tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks, three pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles and one interception over 20 games.
He was named a first-team All-Big Sky Conference performer in 2020 and second-team All-Big Sky in 2021. Kaho’ohanohano-Davis attended rookie camp with the Seattle Seahawks after the 2022 NFL draft.
The Roughriders also announced the signing of defensive back Julius Faulk.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder played two seasons as a receiver and DB at Southwest Mississippi State before transferring to Delta State for his final two years of college football.
Over his 21 games at Delta State, he recorded 68 tackles, 29 pass knockdowns, 10 interceptions, five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
In 2019, Faulk led the Gulf South Conference and NCAA Division II with nine picks and was named first-team All-GSC. He also was named second-team All-GSC in 2021.
Faulk attended rookie camp with the Cleveland Browns following the 2022 NFL draft.
