In a media release Friday, the Moose Jaw Police Service said officers joined investigators from the Moose Jaw Fire Department and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to examine the scene in the 200 block of Athabasca Street West after the fire was extinguished.
The searchers found the bodies of two people in the three-storey building. Police said they were trying to identify the victims and notify their next of kin.
Police said the cause of the fire is still being investigated by police, the fire department and the Saskatchewan Coroners Office.
Police said they wouldn’t be providing updates until the victims are identified and their families are notified.
