Saskatoon police seized more than 20 kilograms of methamphetamine and eight kilograms of cannabis on Monday, and charged three men with drug trafficking.
According to police, the “substantial seizure” followed an eight-week investigation into three men suspected of drug trafficking. On Monday, police raided three homes — located on Seventh Street East, Pringle Crescent and Hart Road – where they seized large quantities of drugs.
In total, officers seized 20,285 grams of methamphetamine, which police said was packaged in one- and two-kilogram quantities. Police also seized 8,040 grams of cannabis, which was reportedly packaged in half-kilogram quantities.
More than 700 oxycodone pills, 1,038 grams of “buffing agent” (an additive used to dilute drugs in order to increase profits), several cell phones, and almost $13,000 in cash also were found by police.
As well, officers seized a 9mm Glock pistol, which the police service described as a prohibited weapon that had been modified to allow for fully automatic fire.
Three men aged 25, 26 and 36 are now facing charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, cannabis and oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, and a number of gun-related charges.
