The City of Saskatoon is starting to mail its 2023 property assessment notices to about 15,000 residential and commercial property owners.
According to the city, property owners will only receive an assessment notice if there has been a change to their assessment, tax status or property ownership since the start of 2022.
The assessment roll, which lists all assessments in Saskatoon, is also open to the public for viewing at the Assessment and Valuation Office. It will remain open until Feb. 3, the city said.
Property taxes in Saskatoon were raised by 3.93 per cent in the city’s 2023 budget.
Anyone with questions about their property assessment, tax class or exemptions status was asked to contact the city’s assessment and valuation department, the city said.
Those wishing to file an appeal of their assessment must submit it along with the accompanying fee before Feb. 3. Property owners do not need to receive an assessment notice in 2023 to file a formal assessment appeal, the city added.
More information on assessments can be found on the city’s website.
