Thanks to the generosity of Saskatoon residents, thousands of families will be putting food on the table this holiday season.
Rock 102’s Stuff the Bus campaign brought in 10,769 pounds of food and raised $61,887 for the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre on Saturday.
The campaign has surpassed half a million dollars in donations since it began in 2005.
“This will help thousands of local families and individuals. Saskatoon really came through in a big way,” said Rock 102 Morning Show host Sheri Ebert.
“We are thrilled to have filled a Saskatoon Transit bus to the brim with food, including offloading it once to make more room for donations, and we raised even more money to help Saskatoon Food Bank work towards a hunger-free community.”
Proceeds from Saturday’s event will be used to support the more than 20,000 people who utilize the food bank’s resources each month.
