One accused in teen’s killing pleads guilty to manslaughter

A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2015 killing of Danil Tsannie.

Lance Littlecrow initially was charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded to the lesser charge Wednesday in Saskatoon Provincial Court.

The Crown and defence made a joint sentencing submission of 11 years in prison, which was accepted by the judge. With time spent on remand, Littlecrow will spend nine years and 10 months in prison.

Tsannie, 16, was found shot to death outside an Avenue I North home on April 1, 2015.

Two other people — Keshia Kakakaway and Erik Henricks — are facing charge of first-degree murder in the case.
