Regina police says it was the discovery of a Molotov cocktail that caused them to call in the bomb squad to a traffic stop on Regina’s north side early Sunday morning.
Police say at 6:15 a.m. as they conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of King Street, they could see the passenger in the front was wearing a camouflaged bulletproof vest.
Once the front passenger door was opened, police noticed what looked to be an explosive device in the compartment of the side door, which led police to calling in the bomb squad.
A further search of the vehicle also turned up a .22 sawed-off riffle.
A 24-year-old is facing six different charges and is set to appear in court Monday morning.
