The CFL’s East and West Division all-star teams were announced Wednesday — and then they weren’t.
Winnipeg Free Press reporter Jeff Hamilton said in a tweet that the league sent out incorrect lists of all-stars to its teams, with incorrect results from the balloting.
That could explain why the story about the all-stars that was on the CFL.ca website earlier in the day couldn’t be found later Wednesday.
According to multiple sources, the CFL gave teams the wrong list of divisional all-stars and will be sending out a new list. Word is the results were calculated incorrectly and there will be multiple changes to the original. What an embarrassing situation for the CFL. #wfp

In Calgary, people were wondering how every member of the Calgary Stampeders’ offensive line — a group that allowed a league-low 17 sacks in the regular season — didn’t make the West all-star team.
In the initial list, the West Division all-star team comprised 11 Winnipeg Blue Bombers, six Stampeders, six B.C. Lions, three Edmonton Elks and one Saskatchewan Roughrider.
That was receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker, who set new career highs in his sophomore season with 68 catches for 960 yards with five touchdowns. He finished 11th in the CFL and second among Canadians in receiving yards.
Despite leading the league in tackles for a second straight year, Roughriders linebacker Darnell Sankey wasn’t on the initial list. Nor was Saskatchewan returner Mario Alford, the West Division’s nominee for the CFL award as most outstanding special-teams player.
In the East Division, the Toronto Argonauts had 16 all-stars, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats had seven, and the Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Redblacks had two apiece.
The league said the all-star teams were selected in voting by members of the Football Reporters of Canada, their respective division’s head coaches, and CFL fans.
It’s unknown when the league will reveal the revised all-star teams.
