A second person has been charged with first-degree murder in the Megan Gallagher case.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, 29-year-old Cheyann Crystal Peeteetuce was arrested Monday at a correctional facility in Prince Albert. She was behind bars for another, unrelated incident.
Peeteetuce is in police custody and is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
She’s the second person charged with first-degree murder in connection with the investigation into Gallagher’s disappearance. The first individual, Robert James (Bobby) Thomas, made his first appearance to answer to the charge Monday morning.
Four other people are facing charges of committing an indignity to human remains.
Gallagher, 30, was last seen on video surveillance footage at a corner store on Diefenbaker Drive in Saskatoon in September of 2020. In January of 2021, police announced they were treating the investigation as a murder.
Police are asking anyone who has any information about the investigation to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
