A pickup truck involved in a serious crash Friday morning in Saskatoon was being pursued by police.
At approximately 3 a.m. police responded to the 100 block of Avenue O South for a report of a stolen vehicle.
The truck was located near 22nd Street West and Avenue R South, but when police attempted to stop it, the vehicle sped off.
A tire deflation device was deployed near 22nd Street West and Circle Drive, and the truck collided with a concrete overpass not far away.
The driver, a 16-year-old girl, was removed from the heavily damaged vehicle and transported to hospital with what are believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Charges are pending.
Traffic restrictions were in place for most of the morning while a collision analyst unit processed the scene.
The police major crime section will conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the incident with oversight from two independent observers appointed by the province.
