The RCMP is going public with a sexual assault allegation in Redvers.
Last weekend, Mounties from the Carlyle detachment were told about a teen who was assaulted at the community recreation centre.
“It’s important for us to notify the community of Redvers and surrounding areas about this incident, due to the serious nature of the report,” Sgt. Dallyn Holmstrom said in a news release.
“The intent of our message is not to cause alarm, but to inform the public so they can take any safety measures and speak with their families about this sensitive and serious subject, as they deem appropriate.”
At this time, the investigation is in its preliminary stages and the Mounties are not releasing any information, including any details about the victim.
The RCMP has yet to identify a suspect.
