One person was found dead on Wascana Lake late Friday night according to Regina police.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the north side of the lake where they found an unresponsive 46-year-old man floating in the water.
Police and firefighters pulled the man from the lake. A short time later, he was pronounced dead on scene.
Details are limited during the early stages of the investigation, but police are asking for the public’s help if they have any information that may be related to the man’s death.
Police are asking people to avoid the north side of the lake while the investigation continues.
If you have any details about the man’s death you’re asked to contact Regina Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
This comes in the wake of the public inquest into Samwel Uko’s death.
Just over two years ago, Uko died in the same lake after being turned away from hospital during a mental breakdown.
