Intense flooding has washed out many roads in Duck Mountain Provincial Park near the Manitoba border, leaving many people in the region feeling isolated.
The Manitoba Highway Hotline shows many roads near the provincial park are closed off.
Eileen Taylor lives in the region and says there isn’t much people can do right now.
“We’re isolated from everything,” she said Monday. “We can’t get supplies in because no one can get in.
“Well, what can you do, right? It’s nature. We have to take the good with the bad.”
The park is about an hour northeast of Yorkton.
A large portion of highways 10, 366 and 367 in Manitoba are closed with no timeline on when they could possibly reopen.
The destruction happened after parts of eastern Saskatchewan along with western Manitoba experienced significant precipitation over the course of multiple days.
Olive Kolisnyk also lives in the area.
She says Mother Nature hasn’t been too kind to people in the region lately.
“A lot of the houses have basements flooded and the yards are full of water and stuff,” she said. “Some people are even evacuated.
“You just have to take it as it comes, I guess.”
If you are travelling up to Duck Mountains do not take highway 10 to 367 as the road is washed out on 367.
