The days are numbered for Saskatoon’s Princess Alexandra School.
On Tuesday, the Saskatoon Public Schools (SPS) Board of Education passed a motion to close the elemantary school at the end of June. Demolition will occur over summer with the site being cleared for construction to begin in the fall.
The site of the Riversdale school was previously chosen by the board as the location for the division’s next school that will bring together the school communities of King George, Pleasant Hill, and Princess Alexandra.
The school division said Princess Alexandra students will be bused to other neighbourhood schools in the fall.
Design work for the City Centre Project is progressing as the school division continues to meet with potential partners for the facility.
The new school is expected to welcome students and staff in September 2025.
