Two more teens have been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year-old man Sunday in Saskatoon.
A 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Shedane Favel. Three other boys — ages 13, 14 and 16 — face the same charge.
The 15-year-old also is facing a charge of breaching the conditions of a prior release order.
The suspects arrested Tuesday appeared in Provincial Court on Wednesday and are to appear next on May 5. The other three appeared Monday and were remanded in custody until their next appearance May 5.
In a media release, the Saskatoon Police Service said investigators “do not anticipate any further arrests.”
The initial police release about Favel’s death said an officer was flagged down Sunday at 6:30 a.m., by a man who said he had been shot. The shooting had occurred in the 200 block of Avenue O South.
Favel was taken to hospital by paramedics but later died from his injuries.
