8:30 – Today is the deadline for an inquiry to be called into the Trudeau government’s use of the Emergencies Act, which was used to clear Ottawa’s streets during the convoy protests earlier this year. But while an inquiry is written into the language of the act itself, how the inquiry will look is not yet clear. Constitutional law expert Dwight Newman joins Gormley to go over the unanswered questions about the inquiry, which must deliver its report back to Parliament by Feb. 18, 2023.

With the ‘District of Cactus,’ developer Dan Cole is aiming to recreate a piece of the old west, with wooden sidewalks, hitching posts, traditional businesses, and more.
