The Saskatoon Fire Department is investigating a fire in an attached garage in Saskatoon’s Hampton Village neighbourhood.
The fire happened just before 3:30 p.m. Friday. Saskatoon Fire dispatched three fire engines, a ladder truck, a rescue unit and their battalion chief to the 1100 block of Hargreaves Avenue.
Smoke was reported to be seen coming from the garage by those first on the scene.
All incoming crews tackled various tactical duties to battle the fire. These included shutting off natural gas and electrical service and checking for hot spots and flames that could have extended into the attic.
The fire was quickly brought under control, with crews working to initially extinguish the blaze through a door into the garage.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The scene is being turned over to the fire investigator by the fire department’s incident commander. Examination of the scene is expected to happen soon, and an update with details will be provided once the investigation is concluded, according to Saskatoon fire.
