8:30 – Saskatchewan-born Bryce Walker was living in Kyiv with his girlfriend at the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but was forced to give up his adopted homeland and leave the country. Walker and his partner have now made their way into Warsaw, Poland, making them part of a group of refugees 2.5 million strong departing from Ukraine. Walker joins Gormley to share the story of his journey from Kyiv into Warsaw.

10:00 – According to Tom Blackwell, reporter with the National Post, so many Canadians have signed up to travel to Ukraine and join the armed forces in the defense against Russia’s invasion that the Canadians actually have their own battalion. The group is composed of upwards of 500 fighters, and is based in Kyiv. Blackwell joins Gormley to tell us about the Canadians going to fight in Ukraine.
