Prairie Harm Reduction and the Government of Saskatchewan are teaming up to help at-risk teens in Saskatoon.
The provincial government announced Wednesday it will pay more than $660,000 a year to fund a new program to support as many as five male youths aged 16 and over who have trouble staying in homes due to substance use.
“The new program will provide high-risk youth with a supportive, non-judgmental, semi-independent home-like environment with supports to address mental health and addictions issues while preparing for their transition to independence,” the government said in a media release.
“They will have 24-hour access to services that ensure their physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural and developmental needs are met.”
