From custom sleigh rides to dancing inside a large igloo to local music, there’s something for everyone to do at the Nutrien Wintershines Festival.
Jason Shingoose is with the Nutrien Wintershines Festival and says it was another successful week for all ages.
“It was wonderful. It really brought the spirit of what we’re trying to promote here,” Shingoose said.
“It’s a way to come out and celebrate winter activities with not only your family, but with other people in the community.”
One of the biggest hits came from the ice sculptures that were made and designed by local artists.
“It’s wonderful. I love that the community can come out and demonstrate their skills.”
Shingoose explains that the snow and ice sculptures take days to be made and that members of the community had the chance to learn how it’s done by local professionals.
With a gorgeous weekend of winter weather, Shingoose said there were lots of families taking in the action on the final day of the festival.
