8:30 – Russia has launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, with thousands fleeing their homes as Russian troops targeted military bases, airports, and major ports. Russian President Vladimir Putin claims the “special military operation” is not intended to occupy Ukrainian territory, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Putin “has unleashed a war with Ukraine and the entire democratic world.” Nathan VanderKlippe is reporting for the Globe and Mail from Ukraine, and he joins Gormley to share the latest on the situation from the ground.

12:00 – Canada’s premier sled dog race is underway in northern Saskatchewan! Mushers in the main 10-dog race got underway Tuesday, with the 8-dog and 6-dog races set to begin today and tomorrow, with winners qualifying for the larger Yukon Quest and Iditarod races. Tanja Tabel is a board member with the Canadian Challenge, and she joins John for an update on this year’s races and how the mushers are coping in the frigid temperatures.
