After nearly seven years, Saskatoon police have arrested two people in the murder of a 16-year-old boy.
Danil Tsannie was found shot to death outside an Avenue I North home on April 1, 2015.
According to a media release from police in 2018, investigators determined Tsannie had arrived at the house after midnight on April 1 with the intention of spending the night. His body was found around noon that day.
Police said four years ago that Tsannie was involved “in a gang lifestyle” at the time of his death and that “impacted the investigation in its initial stages with an unwillingness of his gang associates to come forward and speak to police.”
On Tuesday, police arrested 27-year-old Keshia Kakakaway and 26-year-old Erik Henricks and charged them with first-degree murder. They appeared in court Wednesday and were remanded until their next appearance Friday.
