If you live in the Queen City and have a problem with the roads, the budget or any other issue with the municipal government, don’t reach out to Regina Mayor.
Instead, get in touch with the Regina mayor.
Confused? So were some people on social media.
A Texas energy executive named Regina Mayor learned about some issues in the Saskatchewan city when some people mistakenly tagged her on Twitter.
Her first name is pronounced differently, but spelled exactly the same as the city.
She joined Greg Morgan and Mayor Sandra Masters to talk about the mixup Thursday.
I am not the Mayor. This is my name.

Apparently, it has happened a few times over the years, but she decided one day to start replying.
“I just wanted to make sure that citizens know that when they reach out, they’re not getting the right person. So I just tried to be fact-based and transparent, but for whatever reason, that response tickled a lot of funny bones,” Mayor said.
“I’ve enjoyed the notoriety, for sure.”
Many in the city found the communication error hilarious. There were more than 4,000 likes on her comment that “I am not the Mayor. This is my name.”
Rebellion Brewing, a local beer company, even offered to send Mayor a Regina T-shirt.
Excuse us, Mrs. Mayor, may we send you one of our shirts, that celebrates our fair city and all things Regina as a token of esteem?
There's a whole song behind the shirt too. We've been trying to convince the city to adopt this as the official slogan. pic.twitter.com/hlo89JG52I

Masters encouraged Mayor to come to the Queen City for a visit, which she seemed open to.
“I love energy. I am familiar with Canada. I have not been to Saskatchewan, sadly, but I would love to come sometime in the summer. I’m born and raised in Hawaii, and so I have very, very thin blood,” she said with a giggle.
It’s not the only time a funny name mishap has popped up on social media.
When former Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole was removed from his post Thursday, another Erin O’Toole weighed in.
This one is a completely different person: A radio host in Colorado with the same name.
That's a very good point about the letterhead… https://t.co/UyB5FhUy66
