A Saskatoon woman is pleading for the public’s help in locating very sentimental items she says were stolen from her College Park home earlier this month.
Karen Malanowich told Gormley it was the middle of the afternoon on Jan. 14 when she returned home to find her place in complete chaos.
“I keep referring to it like I walked in after a tsunami had hit my place. It was really shocking at first to see your whole place turned upside down,” she said.
Malanowich said the thieves took irreplaceable things like a silk bag containing the ashes of her father and his old guitar that she was learning to play.
“They really took a lot of things that really have no value for them to try to steal and sell,” Malanowich said.
She told Gormley that staff at Sobey’s spotted someone in their store with a guitar that same day.
According to Malanowich, the grocery store has a company policy where it doesn’t share its video surveillance with the public.
She hopes this loss will encourage neighbours to look out for each other and to report anything suspicious, no matter how small it might seem.
