A 20-year-old man from Saskatoon has been charged in connection with the city’s first homicide of the year.
Police were called at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the 400 block of Avenue B North in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood.
There, officers found a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds. Both were taken to hospital. The woman died of her injuries and the man is in critical condition.
A 20-year-old Saskatoon man was found a short distance away from the scene and was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder.
His first court appearance at Saskatoon Provincial Court was scheduled for Thursday morning.
The victims and the suspect were known to each other. At the request of the family, the name of the victim is not being released at this time.
