Swerve is staying in Saskatchewan.
The CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Friday they had signed receiver Kyran Moore — whose nickname is Swerve — to a contract extension. The 25-year-old product of Bessemer, Ala., could have become a free agent in February.
Moore initially signed with the Roughriders in 2018. Last season, he had 64 catches for 585 yards and three touchdowns in 11 regular-season games before suffering a season-ending knee injury Oct. 30.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder is a product of Austin Peay State University, where he began his career as a defensive back before moving to offence in his junior season.
The Roughriders went into the off-season with 50 players poised to hit the free-agent market. So far, Saskatchewan has announced it has signed contract extensions with 13 players and has released two.
