The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed another member of the 2021 team to a contract extension Wednesday, bringing back American running back Jamal Morrow.
He was eligible to become a free agent in February.
The speedy running back was primarily used as a kick returner for the 2021 CFL season. He played in eight games in the regular season and another two in the playoffs.
Morrow racked up 699 return yards on 32 kickoff returns — second-most in the CFL — and led the league in missed field-goal return yards with 270.
Morrow also returned 33 punts for 417 yards, including a 69-yard punt return touchdown in the West semifinal against the Calgary Stampeders.
The Roughriders initially signed Morrow in 2019. He spent that season on the practice roster.
Morrow played four seasons of college football at Washington State before advancing to the pro ranks.
