For the last time, the problem in Edmonton is not the coach!
In the last 10 seasons, including this one, the Oilers are onto their sixth coach and only two of them have more than 100 games behind the bench; Dallas Eakins and Todd McLellan.
Eakins is right now building a playoff team in Anaheim and McLellan is doing the same in Los Angeles. Neither of them gets the headstart Edmonton has with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
But here we are again, pondering if Saskatchewan’s own Dave Tippett will keep his job behind the bench in Edmonton.
The Oilers’ season has gone from Cup contender to the sky is falling in a month.
When you look at what is wrong in Edmonton, start with the goaltending. Then go to the blue line and then start talking about a lack of depth scoring. After that, you blame the GM for not having all those things and then when those problems are taken care of, you can start talking about the coach.
But sure, Oilers fans, demand a coaching change again. How has that been working out for you?
